Awards Night Ceremony


All scholarship recipients are required to attend our Awards Night Ceremony on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

                                                        Begins at 7:30 p.m.


In the event of unforeseen circumstances and you are unable to attend the ceremony, then you MUST do the following:

  • Call Laura Bloomquist at (860) 989-0272 or Debby Epp at (860) 690-5666.
  • Provide Laura or Debby with the name of an adult family member who              will accept your award in your absence.
  • You must follow these instructions to receive your scholarships.



Information Before You Begin

Students MUST complete an online profile created from this website. 
Upon completion of the student profile, students will be considered for national as well as local scholarships. 
Dependent upon the resources available for distribution, Wethersfield Dollars for Scholars offers a limited number of competitive scholarships to those applicants who best meet the criteria of financial need, academic performance, school activities, community service, and other criteria specified by the donors. 
 There is no assurance that all students who complete the entire application process will receive a scholarship.
We ask students, parents and counselors to read the information below in order to complete this process smoothly. 
  • You may start your profile October 15, 2018!
  • You will be able to view the scholarships you are eligible for after you have filled out all the necessary information.
  • Students must submit requests for information to counselors by February 22, 2019
  • Deadline for scholarship submissions to Wethersfield Dollars for Scholars is March 22, 2019
  • Award Night is May 29, 2019
  • Acknowledgement Deadline is June 7, 2019
  • Students:  it is important to check your profile and email often to ensure you qualify for any new scholarship opportunities that may pop up!  We send updated information and reminders often!!
Below are the instructions as to how complete the student profile, parental portion and counselor information
Do not forget to fill out a FAFSA form and submit the information you receive back from them
on to the financial section of your profile. 
If the information is not submitted, you will not be considered for an award.  
Please be advised that there is a $300,000 FAFSA EFC maximum to apply for a scholarship.

Submission of a profile does not guarantee the award of a scholarship. Awarding scholarships is based on students meeting all profile requirements, amount of money available and the number of qualified student applicants. All awards are selected by an applicant ID number and completely anonymous! Final selection of recipients will be made by a review committe of Wethersfield Dollars for Scholars and must be accepted by the student before June 9, 2019.

Student Opportunities from Scholarship America

With scholarship season in full swing, here are some recently opened programs.. Click the scholarship name to visit and share the application site, and see for updates throughout the year.

The Scholarship America Dream Award: renewable awards up to $15,000 for students to use in their second year of college and beyond.

The Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People with Disabilities: brand-new program offering renewable awards to students with disabilities. Only 700 applications will be accepted, so eligible students should apply quickly!

The AXA Achievement Scholarship: awards for high school seniors ranging from $2,500 to $25,000, plus $1,000 grants for each recipient's high school.

The BURGER KING Scholars Program: scholarships for high school seniors across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. More than $3 million was awarded last year.

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship: $10,000 awards for exceptional high school seniors, renewable for up to three additional years.
